Look What Just Happened After Trump Refused To Bow To The Japanese Emperor!

This Monday, continuing his 13-day trip around Asia, in his current stop, Japan, President Donald Trump met up with Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, exchanging a handshake, just eight years after his predecessor became a global icon of mocking by taking a deep bow before the monarch.

Since visiting the emperor and empress of Japan is a usual routine for every single head of state which comes to visit Tokyo, President Trump also stopped for a handshake just hours before he went on to join a press conference with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Despite slightly nodding his head while he went in for the handshake with the two figureheads, the U.S. commander-in-chief didn’t bend at the waist, unlike his predecessor, former President Barack Obama who made a deep bow and was as a result, mocked by people across the world for his weak stance.
According to information released by an administration official traveling alongside the President on his Far East tour, bowing is “not his style – never has been.”
His visit to Japan comes just one day after he landed in Hawaii and paid a visit to the Pearl Harbor memorial site of the USS Arizona, which was sunken by a surprise Japanese attack back in 1941, ultimately killing more than 2300 soldiers, Marines including civilians.
President Trump is expected to be the last U.S. President which will be meeting with Akihito, as the elderly emperor revealed he will abdicate the Chrysanthemum throne in 2018 when he turns 85, and will leave the seat to his Crown Prince Naruhito, age 57.
What do you think about this?
